Bali received award as The Best Island in Asia Pacific 2008 from DestinAsia Magazine last February in Hong Kong. Bali Tourism Head Mr Gede Nurjaya confirmed this this week after Bali Tourism Office received the letter from Indonesia Embassy in HongKong.Bali had been chosen twice as the Best Island in Asia Pacific of three nominations held by DestinAsia Magazine since 2006.
Mr Nurjaya said that with the award Bali must improve the tourism quality as main destination to maintain the image as the best island and being the best destination in Asia Pacific.He said that with Bali had won the title twice it prove that Bali is still a prima donna of tourism destination in Asia Pacific region.
DestinAsia Magazine is a travel magazine that publish and market in Hong Kong, Singapore, Thailand, India, Malaysia, Australia, Taiwan and several Middle East countries.According to Bali Tourism Office record, Bali has received 21 awards from various international magazines and countries since 1998. Most of the awards were given to Bali for Bali's unique destination and the nature beauty.
